It looks like another name is being taken off the dreaded “trade block” as forward Tuomo Ruutu and the Carolina Hurricanes are
close on a 4 year contract extension.
Ruutu, 29, has 17 goals and 13 assists this season for Carolina.
Ruutu was mentioned as someone who could end up with the New York Rangers around the trade deadline to add scoring depth to the team.
UPDATE: Ruutu and the Hurricanes have agreed on a 4 year extension.
… ahhhh, good for Carolina.
But this is the name I really wanted to see the Rangers go after. A big fan of Ruutu’s and thought he could add a lot to this team.
Tuomo Ruutu was expected to give #Canes his seal of approval today on a 4 year extension. Takes another pending UFA off #SNtrade market
