New York Rangers winger Sean Avery was a guest on the Bravo TV’s “Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens” along with Nicole Richie. 
During the show, Avery said he has officially retired and threw his skates into the Hudson River.

… I cannot say that I am shocked.
The New York Rangers did not want anything to do with him anymore and the consensus around the National Hockey League is that no team wanted to deal with him either.
The guy was even being scratched by a minor league affiliate. Come on, you knew his career was coming to an end and fast this season.
His fashion career took control of his hockey career over the last 3-4 seasons and it showed on and off the ice.
