MSG to Honor Henrik Lundqvist with Special Programming Lineup Sunday Night

MSG TO HONOR HENRIK LUNDQVIST WITH SPECIAL PROGRAMMING LINEUP SUNDAY NIGHT
Two Hours Featuring the 2011-12 Vezina Trophy Winner Starting Sunday at 8:00 p.m.
New York, NY (June 21, 2012) – MSG will congratulate and honor New York Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist who last night received the 2011-12 Vezina Trophy, awarded annually to the NHL’s top goaltender, with a special slate of programming on Sunday, June 24.
Starting at 8:00 p.m., MSG will telecast four consecutive 30-minute programs dedicated to Lundqvist. Below is the special programming lineup.
8:00 p.m. – “ProFiles: Rangers #30″
MSG takes an in-depth look at the career of Henrik Lundqvist, from his decorated days in Sweden to his outstanding career on the New York Rangers.
8:30 p.m. – “MSG Countdown: Lundqvist’s Greatest Saves”
MSG ranks the Top 25 stops by the Blueshirts’ net-minder from 2005 through 2011.
9:00 p.m. – “The Game 365: Henrik Lundqvist – Part I”
Host Fran Healy joins the Rangers goaltender in his hometown of Åre, Sweden for a look back at where the All-Star got his start.
9:30 p.m. – “The Game 365: Henrik Lundqvist – Part II”
Lundqvist takes Healy through his summer workout routine in Sweden, including skates with his former team Frölunda.
Lundqvist, 30, led the Rangers to the Eastern Conference Finals this season and established career-highs in wins (39) and save percentage (.930), and posted a career-best in goals against average (1.97). He tied for fourth in the NHL in goals against average, third in shutouts (eight), and ranked third in wins and save percentage. Lundqvist held opponents to two or fewer goals in 41 games, and posted a record of 12-5-1 with a 2.08 goals against average, .941 save percentage and two shutouts when stopping 30 or more shots. Lundqvist was named the Rangers MVP for the sixth consecutive year, a franchise record, and made his third career All-Star appearance at the 2012 NHL All-Star Game.
