Rangers Trade Chad Kolarik to Pittsburgh Penguins

The New York Rangers have traded F Chad Kolarik to the Pittsburgh Penguins for F Benn Ferriero.
Kolarik, 26, has 16 goals and 19 assists in 41 games for the Connecticut Whale while Ferriero, 25, has 4 goals and 14 assists in 34 games for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.
Brian Costello of The Hockey News has stated that the Rangers have been offering up Kolarik for quite a while around the league.
… not sure why the Rangers wanted to trade Kolarik who was having a very good season in the AHL but they have. More on this as we get it.
